Name: Tim Gooderson
Group: Marine Radio General Cert
Years: 1975 (when college was new) - 1977
Later: Radar Technician
Years: 1977-1978
Employment since 1978: I was employed with Muirheads in Beckenham since leaving college as I failed my morse code test so was unable to go to sea.
As we had only been trained on hot valves & DTL/TTL circuitry it came as a bit of a surprise to encounter CMOS so it became a sharp learning curve all over again.
I moved along within Muirheads for 13 years, working at supervisory levels in several differant departments before joining the service department and travelling worldwide. It came as a shock when after a short period of Muirheads being taken over by Crosfield Electronics I was made redundant.
I became self-employed for a while before answering an advert to work on engine diagnostic equipment for a company now owned by the Snap-On corporation called Sun Electric, where my interests at school in both mechanical and electronic engineering has been to my benefit.
Regards
Tim Gooderson
