Worked at Racal Defence, then at sea from March 1985 till May 1998 with Cable & Wireless Marine Ltd (now Global Marine Systems Ltd) as a Submarine Telecomms Cable Engineer. Since then, office based in Chelmsford. Position now, Senior Cable Engineer, supporting the Cable Engineering function onboard a global fleet of Cable Laying and Cable repair vessels. Ref
I spent 14 years at sea with Cable & Wireless Marine as a Cable
Engineer and am now office based, keeping the fleet going as Senior Cable
Engineer. Global Crossing bought us three years ago and we expanded our
fleet by 100% to cope with the work, so had great fun shopping!
Now that Global Crossing are feeling the pinch they've decided to sell us but no
takers that we know of yet.
I'd be interested in some sort of re-union at some stage but I don't think I'll be up to it until later next year. It
would be fun to have one in the Greenhithe area.
Nice to see some photos of the college. I think I have some good ones somewhere which I will dig out
and get scanned.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye on the site and send you some photos in due course.

Chris Penrose Stevens and Pete Minns are both Senior Submersible Engineers with Global Marine Systems. I haven't seen either of them for a while but can get in touch. I said hello to Debby Amos who was two years below us. She's on Friends Re-united.
I met Bobby Khan last year when she came to us for an interview. Also, I attended a wedding a few years back where the reception involved a barn dance and Jim Trent was playing the accordian! Steve Rogers went to sea and the last I heard was living in the States and married to an American.
That's about all I can think of at the moment. I've emailed your link out to our fleet because I know there are a few ex-MNC people out there. One Chris Sturgeon is a senior deck officer in our fleet. Ref
