In 1976 I came ashore and I joined the Army. After inital training with the RCT at Buller Barracks, Aldershot, (I was 'Best Recruit' in intake 506) I was posted to 20 Maritime Regiment, Royal Corps of Transport, at Gosport. Serving in HMAV Audmer (and was on the Sivler Jubilee review of the Fleet, in 1977) and Oliver Twist (at the British Kiel Yacht Club in BAOR). I ended up at the RA ranges, in the Outer Hebrides at Benbecular and St Kilda. I left in the Army in 1979.

The day after I left the Regular Army I joined the TA serving with 6Pl 2 Coy 10Para. I was injured during 'P' Company and left the Regt. Once I had recovered from the injury I joined 215 Sqn RCT(V) at Mile End Road. I left the TA I joined the Metropolitan Police in 1981.

With the Metropolitan Police after training at Hendon I was posted to t Peckham Police Station.
In 1986 I transfered to the Diplomatic Protection Group at Tottenham Court Road.
In 1987 I joined PT17, Level 2 B Team which later becoming Black Team.
In 1990 I was then 'tenured' to Mitcham Police Station for 5 months returning to SO19. I served as an instructor and on the Armed Responce Vehicles with 'F' Troop.

I had rejoined the TA with 253 Pro Coy RMP(V) in 1984 and was 'called up' in 1996 for regular service in the Former Republic of Yugoslavia serving with both 174 Pro Coy RMP and 1(UK) Armd Div Pro Coy RMP as part of IFOR.

In January 1999 I was again 'tenured' but this time to Croydon Police Station where I stayed until Febuary 2000.

I was then seconded to the FCO and was posted back to the FRY to work with the UN mission to Kosovo (UNMIK). I was seconded, by the FCO, to the OSCE and worked at the Police School in Vushrui for a year, at the Kosovo Police Service School, training Kosovo Police Recruits.

Upon return, in 2001, I was posted to Brockley Police Station.

In 2002 back to SO19 as an Instructor at Lippetts Hill and then the whole training Department moved to Gravesend, the old sea school, which had been transformed into the Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre (MPSTC).

In December 2004 I applied for another 'Mission' and May 2005 I was seconded to the FCO again and worked in Jordan at the Jordan International Police Traning Centre (JIPTC) training Iraqi Police Recruits.

In May 2006 I returned to the UK and rejoined the MPS and was posted back to CO19.

Furthering my 'Military' career I have recently joined 3 Tactical Provost Wing R(Aux)AF. That means that now I have been a member of the reserves of all three services!
